I haven't seen " high rise " yet , but I think A Field in England is a masterpiece, mainly because of the intelligent script writing which somehow captures the unhinged , tipping point character of the period . Very much from left field but the sense of betrayed hope and hopelessness is spot on ; after all what was to come but more avaricious enclosures and Cromwell's police stste ! Keep up the inspired writing .

Hello, hello! Just got back from seeing High Rise with my wife and I just wanted to say: THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU. I knew something was up when my eye caught Ben's quote "I can understand why people don't like it". Well, it's a bloody fantastic film with critical content! The world needs much more of films like this - and of course it's clear why some people "don't like it" - precisely because they'd rather avoid the decay our advanced capitalist societies are in, just like the characters in Ballard's novel. It was an added bonus to see reminders of my childhood in England - just saw that we're both born in 1972. Good man (and woman) Ben & Amy - keep up the GOOD WORK!!

Watching A Field right now. Interested in history of Civil War period and came across it trawling through poss film resources. Have discovered, of course, that it's not just good research background - it's a great film! Kooky. Weird. Clever. SUperbly acted. What a gem. On my list to share around :)
